DURBAN: Police in Cape Town have cordoned off the street around the house where murdered Pakistani coach Bob Woolmer's family live.

The step was taken following keen interest shown by local and international media over the death of Woolmer, who the Jamaician police say was strangled.

One of Woolmer's sons, Dale, has arrived in Cape Town to be with his mother and brother, Russel.

Police in Cape Town said they had to take action to cordon off the area because of presence of large number of mediamen in the locality. More than 20 print and broadcast journalists are stalking the house.

Early this week, journalists found it very difficult to speak to Woolmer's wife and one local TV station even reported that no one was at home to answer their queries.

According to reports here, friends and family have set up a trust fund in the name of Woolmer to help finance a cricket academy in South Africa.

The Bob Woolmer Trust Fund will also help provide financial security for his widow, Gill, and sons Dale and Russell.
