K0LKATA: The passenger of the Delhi-bound Indigo flight, whose bomb scare forced the flight to return to Kolkata on Sunday night, was arrested on Monday.

The passenger, Mehak Ahuja, had reportedly sent an SMS to her father, claiming there were some 'extremists' on board.

Her father immediately informed the airport authority about his daughter's apprehension.

The aircraft, which was then over Varanasi, was asked by the Air Traffic Control(ATC) to return to Kolkata. The plane was at once taken to an isolated bay where the passengers were evacuated by security officials.

The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security and the Central Industrial Security Force were also present. However, nothing was found.

The passengers were also frisked and interrogated by the security officials. Their luggage was also frisked.

Ahuja, an MBA student from Delhi, was interrogated thoroughly and asked to identify the passengers that she suspected. However, when she failed to do so, she was arrested.
