NEW DELHI: The tiff between the Congress and the Bachchans is getting worse by the day.

The UP unit of the party has petitioned the Chief Election Commissioner urging him to impose a ban on Amitabh Bachchan's latest starrer Nishabd. The move comes close on the heels of a series of advertisements featuring the cine-star endorsed by the Samajwadi Party.

Taking cue from her husband's advertisement "Kyonki UP Mein Jurm Hai Kum", Samajwadi Party member Jaya Bachchan also lashed out in the Parliament  at the Congress over the increasing rate of child trafficking cases in the Congress-ruled states  on Wednesday.

The Congress and the SP are at present locked in a no-holds barred battle in UP and both sides appear to have decided to go for even those associated with the party.

Two days back, SP workers demonstrated against Sharukh Khan for his tongue-in-cheek remarks against party honcho Amar Singh.  Shahrukh Khan has made no secret of his association with the Gandhi family, given his ongoing rivalry with the Bachchans.

He has become a prime target for the Samajwadi party. Now, it is the turn of the Congress to hit back at the Bachchans.
