Kids are my biggest fans: Mahadevan

MUMBAI: For someone who makes adults regularly dance to his chart-topping tunes, singer-musician Shankar Mahadevan is now out to play for children because he believes they are his 'biggest fans'.

Mahadevan, whose parternship with Ehsaan and Loy has produced a string of hit songs, has taken time off from his busy schedule to sing for a newly launched TV show on a cartoon channel.

"I chose to sing for this because it has a very peppy track. More importantly, I always enjoy singing for kids. They are my biggest fans, and whenever I perform live, I have the most fun singing to them. You automatically put in more energy for them as you strive to make it more fun," Mahadevan said.

Mahadevan, however, has a lot on his hands right now.

"After procrastinating for more than three years due to our film commitments, the three of us have finally started working on our own album. Yesterday we finally had the album's 'muhurat' in our office," he said.

"While we will try and maintain a bit of our feel in the songs, the album will appeal to people everywhere and across all age groups," he said.

The trio is busy adding finishing touches to the music of Yashraj's next film Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, following which they have Amir Khan's home production Taare Zameen Par, Sajid Khan's Hey Baby and Anil Kapoor's next movie.
