NEW DELHI: Manu Sharma, son of a senior Congress leader, Venod Sharma, who is undergoing life term in the sensational murder case of model Jessica Lall, filed an appeal in Supreme Court on Friday challenging the Delhi High Court's judgement.

Sharma, who was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Delhi High Court on December 20 last year after being held guilty for murdering Lall, filed the appeal assailing the grounds of his conviction and sought reversal of the order.

Two others Vikas Yadav, son of controversial Uttar Pradesh politician DP Yadav, and Amardeep Singh Gill alias
Tony, an executive with MNC, were sentenced to four years imprisonment for conspiring with Sharma to destroy the evidence in the case.

A trial court had on February 21 last year acquitted all nine accused due to lack of evidence against them, leading to massive public outrage.

Lall was shot on the intervening night of April 29-30 at a party at Qutub Colonnade restaurant in south Delhi.
