NEW DELHI: With tears in their eyes and fists clinched, parents of missing children of the Nithari village took to the streets outside their semi-urban colony to express their resentment against the authorities, exactly a month after the police first stumbled on the case of abduction and murder of minors.

After trying for years and finally managing to get their complaints registered with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), parents of these missing children complained on Monday that they have not received any news about the progress in the investigation, since they were first approached by the sleuths a couple of weeks ago.

The agitators blocked roads for more that six hours. A busy 67-year-old Saryu Prasad Gupta whose grandson Rakesh, 6, went missing almost two years ago said, “Nobody has contacted us ever since our complaint was registered 24 days ago. We want to know what the developments in the case are because we fear that police would not be able to nail the culprits.”

“We want speedy justice, not a long courtroom trial,” added Nazreen Bibi, a domestic help, whose 6-year-old son went missing while playing in the village five months ago.

The police had stumbled on the abduction and murder of minors when they first arrested Surinder Koli, the domestic help of  the main accused Moninder Singh Pandher. Both were arrested after the recovery of skulls, skeletal remains and bio material from their house.

“They have not shown us the clothes that were found from the house. At least they should inform us about identification of our children,” said Soni, whose 10-year-old sister Anita also went missing from the village.
