As divorces increase, a poll indicates that there is still hope for marriage.

SILICON VALLEY: Losing faith in relationships in a faithless world? Here’s reason for hope. Forty-four per cent of 3,000 married women who participated in a poll said they would happily marry their husbands again if they got a chance to redo their ‘I do’.

Only 36 per cent, a small percentage considering the high rate of divorces, would definitely not marry their husbands if they had to do it all over again. Another 20 per cent had trouble making up their minds.

The poll was conducted by Woman’s Day magazine and AOL.com and published in the magazine’s February issue, which hit the stands in the US on Tuesday.

Of the 3,000 married women surveyed, 76 per cent admitted they keep secrets from their husbands. The poll also found that 84 per cent of American wives would want to be told if their husbands were cheating, with 49 per cent saying they had suspected or even caught their husbands having an affair.

But there is also a flip side. A whopping 76 per cent of the women polled admitted that they fantasise about a man other than their husband, while 39 per said they flirt with other men constantly.

Turning to pop culture, 31 per cent of the women polled said Hollywood actors Ben Affleck and Will Smith were the sexiest married male celebrities. When asked to play matchmaker for single stars, 47 per cent voted for Jennifer Aniston’s perfect mate to be Matthew McConaughey.
