Renuka-Ashutosh do a ‘Nach Baliye’

The husband-wife duo did an impromptu jig at Anuj Saxena’s  bash

Even as the  young ‘Kulvadhu’ (Sony) jodi, Daljit  Kaur  and Imran Khan, were initially hesitant to boogie to the  Rajasthani folk rhythms, it was the husband-wife duo  Renuka Shahane and Ashutosh Rana who stole the show with their spontaneous dance.

The occasion was the celebration of the launch of ‘Kulvaddhu’ held this week. The venue was producer Anuj Saxena’s   recently opened restobar Blue Waters.

Incidentally, Saxena had invited all his female co-stars right from the beginning of his career. 

Which is how Renuka (his co-actor in ‘Aasman Se Aagay’ and ‘Kora Kaagaz’)  and  his recent co-stars  Juhi Parmar, Narayani Shastri, Urvashi Dholakia, Sampada Vaze, Jayaa Mathur and  Maushmi Udeshi (his heroine in the stalled film ‘Lips’) made it a point to attend .

Ashutosh quipped, “It’s strange that Renuka and I have never acted together in any project till date. Maybe, it’s better that we have independent professional tracks. But we really had a blast as we danced together,” quipped Rana who was clad in a netaji outfit. 

Curiously, the ‘Kulvaddhu’ protagonist Daljit was feeling rather out of place at the party. “Honestly, I am not at all a party animal. I prefer chilling at home with my family, ” she said.  The parting shot at the bash came from the Sandip Sikcand of Sony.  “There is much more to ‘Kulvaddhu’. Let me warn you of a shock-value twist in the story.”
