Comic Raju Srivastava lightheartedly ticks off judges Saroj Khan and Kunal Kohli in ‘Nach Baliye 2’
All the whistles and the kisses that judges of ‘Nach Baliye 2’ (Star One), Saroj Khan and Kunal Kohli, are known to give the jodis was one of the many spoofs that comedian Raju Srivastava performed as he appeared in the show as a special guest.
He has the judges, jodis and audiences in splits as he does one item after another. “I told Saroj Khan and Kunal Kohli that they were corrupting the kids because after watching them on the show, they have learnt to ape their whistles and kisses,” reveals Raju.
“ I also told Sarojji that the show was a hit because of the coins she throws when she is happy with a performance,” Raju says with a smile.
In an episode that has the eliminated five jodis performing to get an opportunity to be the wild card entry, Raju’s performance diffused the stress levels among the jodis. He appears in the guise of a character that has got him recognition - Gajodhar Bhaiya. He asks judge Malaika Arora Khan why she was missing from the Diwali special episode and she says she was very much there. To which he quips, “Oh! You were wearing a sari so I did not recognize you.”
Another interesting anecdote that he was willing to share was when he told Keerti and Rasik Dave that it was not their age to participate in a dance show and that they should instead be doing keertans and bhajans. But Keerti retorted, “If Amitabh Bachchan can shake a leg at the age of 64 , then so can we. We are just five years younger then him.”
Being aired tonight, the episode also has Varun Badola and Rajeshwari Sachdev as hosts. Viewers will remember that this duo were ousted despite excellent performances in the last season of ‘Nach Baliye’. They will be performing once again to set the stage on fire.
