NEW DELHI: An Armyman has been arrested from the capital on charges of spying and sensitive documents seized from his possession.
 
Ritesh Kumar, 24, an Army signalman posted in Leh, was arrested on Friday from the Airport, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Alok Kumar said.
 
Acting on a tipoff, sleuths of the special cell arrested him as soon as his Jet Airways flight from Srinagar landed in Delhi at 10 am, he said.
 
A pen drive and some defense-related documents were recovered from him. Kumar, who hailed from Bihar, was supposed to hand over the sensitive material to somebody in Kathmandu.
 
Following his arrest, Kumar was produced in court on Saturday and was remanded to five days police custody. He has been charged under relevant sections of the Officials Secrets Act.
 
On Saturday, an army man was arrested from southwest Delhi while allegedly handing over sensitive defense-related classified documents to a Pakistan High Commission driver.
