PUNE: Two moderate intensity quakes shook Maharashtra and Gujarat on Saturday, the Indian Meteorological Department said.
The tremor, measuring 2.5 on the Richter scale, recorded at 5:23 am, was epicentered at latitude 17.4 degree north and longitude 73.8 degree east of Koyna, about 135 km from here.
"The second slight intensity quake, measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale, was recorded at 5.47 am. It was epicentered at latitude 21.9 degree north and longitude 69.8 degree east of southwest of Gujarat, about 517 km from Pune," the department said.
