WASHINGTON: Iran is willing to discuss "everything" with the US provided the Bush administration changes its view that results could be achieved through "pressure" tactics, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said.

"If they change their behaviour, it is possible to talk about everything," he told the Washington Post, signaling Iran's interest for joining negotiating table.

However, the Iranian President said the attitude of US towards his regime was "inappropriate".

"It is the behaviour I am talking about; the attitude is inappropriate. They believe that they own the entire world so they speak from that position, looking down at us -- even when they meet us."

"We believe that talks are much better than threats and confrontation," he said.

The President blamed a section of US Administration of sabotaging the prospects of talks.

"We are currently holding talks with many countries. I have said before that the United States is no exception, but the US administration -- that is, a section of the US administration -- does not create the right circumstances. It destroys chances for constructive talks," he was quoted as saying by the Washington Post.

"Some politicians in the US think that the nuclear issue is a way to put pressure on Iran, but they are wrong," he said.

The comments came at a time when the world powers were considering imposing sanctions that would target Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile sectors if Tehran persists in refusing to suspend uranium enrichment.
