Chinappa wins Bangalore International Marathon

BANGALORE: HA Chinappa won the Bangalore International Marathon clocking two hours, 25 minutes and 19 seconds on Sunday.

He pushed Ethiopia's Ragassa Meday (2:25:27) to second place, with India's Bipul Sharma (2:25:30) coming third.

In the women's race, Deepthi Ashok annexed the crown, clocking four hours, 13 minutes and 13 seconds. Suma C (4:23:47) was second, beating Kala M (4:26:06).

The winners in each section took home Rs one lakh, while silver and bronze medallists were richer by Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively.
