LG.Philips LCD develops new panel for mobile phones

SEOUL: LG.Philips LCD, a developer of thin-film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) technology, has developed, what it claims to be, the industry's first TFT-LCD panel for next-generation mobile phones.

The 2-inch LCD panel claims to have a faster response time, allowing it to play back sharp high-quality video from next-generation digital broadcasts and mobile communication technology, including DVB-H and WiBro.

LG.Philips LCD believes that the new display opens the door to mobile entertainment possibilities.  This new product boasts a response time similar to LCD panels for notebook computers and is also easy to mass produce.
