LONDON: England women beat their Indian counterparts by three wickets in the fourth one-day international played at the Rosebowl in Southampton. Chasing India's modest target of 192 for eight, England overcome early setbacks to overhaul the target with 26 balls to spare. Wicket-keeper Jane Smith hit an unbeaten 22 off 24 balls and had medium pace bowler Katherine Brunt (10) for company when England reached home. 

Jhulan Goswami struck early and removed both the England openers to leave them at 2 for 1 at one stage. Jhulan used the new ball well to castle Caroline Atkins for 5 and Laura Newton for nought. However, Claire Taylor hit 32 off 54 balls and added 43 runs for the third wicket with Jenny Gunn to stabilize the innings after captain Charlotte Edwards fell without opening her account.Sarah Taylor, kept the scoreboard ticking with a well made 61 before falling to off-spinner Nooshin Al Khader.

Anjum Chopra struck a fine half-century to help Indian women overcome an overall batting failure and post 192. Anjum played the role of a sheet anchor in making a patient 53 and put up useful partnerships with skipper Mithali Raj (47) and Hemlata Kala (40).
