Venue of PM's meeting changed

YAVATMAL (MAHARASHTRA): The venue of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's meeting with family members of farmers who committed suicide has been changed from Koljhari village to Yavatmal town, official sources said on Saturday.

No reason was given for the change in the venue.

As per earlier schedule, Singh was supposed to visit Koljhari village, 50 km from here, and meet family members of a farmer G Pawar who committed suicide in May this year.

The Prime Minister will now meet family members of farmers who committed suicide at Yavatmal airport.

Asked whether it was due to security reasons or the weather, the sources declined to comment.
