NEW DELHI: Yahoo! on Tuesday launched an improved search module that will allow users to save and organise pages looked for by them on the web and access it from any computer, instead of beginning a fresh process each time.
The search module My Web 2.0 unveiled by Yahoo! India, enables users to save, organise and tag web pages and bookmarks on a personal account and recall them from any computer, the company said.
The module helps users to save search results in a personalised My Web account and enables them to share results with friends and a broader community of people with similar interests, the company said.
"My Web 2.0 creates a personal online web archive for a user by saving his favourite pages, search results and history to his personal account. The user can save, organise and find pages in a sequential manner, making it easier to organise saved pages. The search module makes contents of the saved web page searchable," it said.
"The Internet is becoming more community-orientated and users want access to trusted information. We see social search as the next phase of web search. My Web helps users tap into the power of communities, using tagging and sharing to improve the search experience," Yahoo! India Managing Director George Zacharias said.
