Actor Sangeeta Ghosh explains why she couldn't be her mentor's 'Vaidehi'.

Her claim to fame was playing Pammi in Aroona Irani's 'Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chaand' which was follwed by 'Rabba Ishq Na Hove'. So it did come as a surprise when actor Sangeeta  Ghosh was not roped in for mentor Irani's upcoming 'Vaidehi' which has Pallavi Kulkarni playing the protagonist.

Sangeeta clears the air, "That's rubbish! Aroonaji and I are regularly in touch with each other. We share a close bond. When the casting of 'Vaidehi' was being done I had begun shooting for Ravi Chopra's 'Virasaat'. It goes without saying that I am Aroonaji's first choice whenever she starts a project. But since I believe in giving my 100 per cent to any assignment on hand, we amicably decided that I would not be doing 'Vaidehi'."

She speaks of her character in Viraasat', "I play  Priyanka - Rohit Roy's wife. Amarr Upadhyay plays my brother while Aman Verma is my brother-in-law." She elaborates, "Priyanka has shades of grey. She loves her husband and family but when the developments are unfavourable, she makes smart moves as in a game of chess." Sangeeta is also confident that the "on-screen chemistry" she shares with Rohit will charm viewers.

Incidentally, Sangeeta who is a Bharat Natyam exponent, proved her talent as she danced even while she anchored the 'Nach Baliye' episodes. "Maybe, if I were married to a guy who was a good dancer as well, I would have surely qualified for the final rounds," she quips.
