Akbar Khan leads an Indian  delegation to Lahore for the release of his film 'Taj Mahal'.

The Khan-daan is still smarting over 'Mughal-e-Azam' beating  'Taj Mahal' to become the first Bollywood film to release in Pakistan since Indian movies were banned in 1965.

But they joined Akbar Khan, who flew to Lahore via Delhi for the release of his film, which  premieres on April 28. Part of the entourage are Feroz Khan, his son Fardeen and daughter-in-law Natassha, besides Shahwar Ali, Zulfi Syed and Mahesh Bhatt.

"This is not a mere trip for us. We are going there to further strengthen ties between the two nations. We'll hold talks to see whether we can enter into any sort of a film treaty with Pakistan," explained Bhatt.

Fardeen, who is very excited to be part of this trip, said he was also looking forward to meet some of his friends who live in Pakistan. "This is the first Pakistan trip for me, dad and my wife. It's a wonderful country and this is a momentous occasion for the film industry," he said. In Delhi, they also attended a special media conference. BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha and Congress leader Ambika Soni are expected to join the group for the premiere.

Khan said that his team would later also travel to Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Karachi to promote the film.
