Legendary filmmaker K Asif's magnus opus 'Mughal-e-Azam' was released by his son Akbar Asif in Lahore's Gulistan Cinema on Saturday, becoming the first Bollywood film to be screened in a Pakistan theatre in 41 years.

But not everyone is celebrating. The 'premature' release has upset Akbar Khan, who was expecting this honour when his film 'Taj Mahal' releases in Pakistan on April 28. Khan sees the move as a clear case of one-upmanship.  "K Asif (Akbar Asif's father) was a legend. This petty act is an injustice to the man. K Asif's soul will be hurt," he said.

Despite the setback, Khan is still planning to take the biggest Bollywood stars across the border for a star-studded premiere. "We've arranged a grand premiere, the first of its kind in Pakistan, where we'll have the Culture Ministers from both countries present."
