This 5-year-old ‘diva’ is a real sensation!

At 5, she has a song to her credit for a film that releases this week. And, all she is thrilled about is the amount of chocolates she has been gifted since the song has been out. This diarist had a chance to speak to five-year-old Diva Roy, who currently is taking the online medium storm with her song Bawla Sa Sapna from the film Shaadi Ke Side Effects. She is touted to be the youngest playback singer in India. Pritha, Diva’s mother said, “Diva has no formal training in singing. She sings with me whenever she feels like. She is the moodiest person I have ever met and I am happy that the recording or the fame has not affected her. She is too young and she still has a long way to go.”
When music director Pritam was looking for a child singer for film Shaadi Ke Side Effects, one of Diva’s mother’s friends introduced her to Pritam as she was aware of Diva’s talent of singing a full song at a stretch. 
The best part is that this recording has not affected her and all that excites her is food. “I am a foodie and love colouring too. I want to be a doctor, dancer, musician and many other things,”added Diva. 
Apart from singing, Diva loves playing tennis and dancing. She is learning Odissi as she wants to graduate into ballet from Odissi. Diva was musically inclined since a young age and her mother noticed her talent two-and-a-half years ago.
