For the second time in a row, septuagenarian Aisha Memon, who was thrown out of her daughter’s house recently due to domestic discord, was rescued by the court of judicial magistrate on Friday.
Aisha had approached the court for relief.

On Friday, the court directed Aisha’s daughter, Yasmeen Shaikh (32), to allow Aisha to stay in her flat at A-26, Brahma Estate, Kondhwa, until October 31, the next hearing in the case.
Late night on October 21, Aisha’s son-in-law gave her the keys to the flat permitting her entry.

Deepika Mahamuni, the representative of NGO Chetana Mahila Vikas Kendra (CMVK) that was helping the elderly woman fight the case, said that the septuagenarian had trouble getting admittance to the house.

“After the court order, we went to the flat but it was locked. We approached the Kondhwa police for help but they didn’t cooperate. The police stated that they were not authorised to break the lock and gain entry for Aisha. A few hours later, her son-in-law came and handed over the keys,” he said.

This is the second time that Aisha gained entry into her daughter’s house after being thrown out.

The first time Aisha moved court was on October 12, when the court instructed Aisha’s daughter Yasmeen to allow her mother to stay in her house until October 18.

Aisha’s son Anjum (39) had refused to allow his mother to stay in his house claiming that she was the reason behind marital discord with his wife. He was directed to pay her maintenance. However, as the court order lapsed on October 19, Yasmeen once again evicted her mother out of the house and left for Mumbai where she worked, after locking up her Kondhwa residence.
This tragic story was reported by DNA on October 21, ‘Daughter throws out septuagenarian mother’ about how Aisha spent the night sleeping on the staircase of the building and went without food.
