Techie killed in highway accident on Pune-Mumbai old highway

A software engineer, Atul Arvind Gune (40), died in a mishap on the Pune-Mumbai old highway on Sunday morning.
Atul and his wife Mohini, 35, were travelling in their car when Atul suddenly lost control of the vehicle. The couple resided at Rajguru Colony in Talegaon.

“Atul was on his way to drop his wife at her office. The car hit a road divider and fell into a 12-ft deep gorge. Mohini has been admitted to a private hospital at Somatane Phata in a serious condition,” the police said.

Atul was employed with WNS Limited, a leading global business process outsourcing company. According to constable Mukhtar Shaikh of Talegaon police station, the mishap took place at a spot between Wadgoan Phata and Vipras Phata.

“We engaged a crane and lifted the vehicle from the gorge. When the duo was taken to the hospital, Anup was declared brought dead,” he added.
