The court has stayed its order for a period of eight weeks. The order requires WWI to surrender 14.5 acres currently not in use while continuing operations for two more years.

Reacting to the order, Ghai said, "I am a filmmaker and committed to education of the next generation. I have acted in good faith and in the interest of education at large. I have faith in the judicial system and I am confident that I will get justice in the Supreme Court. Whistling Woods is supported by the entire film and media industry and is appreciated globally as well. I will continue to fight for what I believe is right for the next generation of the Indian media and entertainment industry."
