NCP president and Union minister for agriculture Sharad Pawar will undergo a minor oral surgery at Breach Candy Hospital on Wednesday.
Sources close to the Pawar family confirmed that doctors had diagnosed an infection in his gums and have advised him to undergo a minor operation for the same.
Pawar, who addressed a public function at Jejuri on his way from Baramati to Mumbai on Monday evening, will be admitted to the hospital on Tuesday morning. After a few tests he will be operated upon for the gum infection.
The sources asserted that the minor surgery had nothing to do with Pawar’s earlier surgery, which was a major one on the cancer tumour.
Pawar himself had disclosed the fact of his cancer operation during a public function in Pune last year. Sources informed that it was during a routine check-up last week that the gum infection was diagnosed.
