The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced a flat for city-based kabaddi player, Deepika Joseph, who was part of the Indian women’s kabaddi team that won a gold medal.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced a flat for city-based kabaddi player, Deepika Joseph, who was part of the Indian women’s kabaddi team that won a gold medal in the
recently-concluded Asian Games.
Standing committee chairman, Arvind Shinde, said members unanimously passed the resolution to allot an apartment to the kabbadi player, who made the nation proud with her performance. She now lives in a small house in Kelewadi slum area in Kothrud.
Deepika, who is a first-year BA student at Fergusson College, has been playing kabbadi for the last seven years.
District collector Chadrakant Dalvi visited Deepika’s home on Tuesday and congratulated her on behalf of the state government.
Sports deputy director, Anand Vyankeshwar, and district sports officer Uday Joshi also visited Deepika’s home in Kelewadi.
