A deputy sarpanch was allegedly stabbed to death by a group of Naxals in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, police said today.
The incident took place yesterday in Kolsegudam village of Aheri taluka in the Naxal-infested district, they said.
The deputy village head was identified as Sadashiv Lengure, 45, police said.
In another incident a missing Bihari youth, Santosh Gulab Mishra, 25, was gunned down by Maoists in Wangejhari area in Etapalli taluka of Gadchiroli on Saturday night.
Police said Mishra was mentally deranged and was missing from his house in Bihar since last five months. Police are clueless how he was trapped by naxals and motive behind his killing.
