A 15-year-old student of the Queen Mary School in Mira-Bhayandar was seriously injured after a 25-year-old man stabbed him with a sharp-edged weapon over a love affair on Tuesday. The accused escaped after committing the crime.

The victim, Ashraf Khan, was rushed to A Care Hospital. He is condition is stated to be critical.

According to police, a group clash broke out over a love affair involving Ashraf and the main accused, Sonu alias Ahmad Ali (25).
Assistant Inspector S Shivarkar of Navghar police station said Sonu, a garage owner in Mira road, was in love with one girl from Queen Mary school. But Ashraf was unaware of this fact and tried to befriend the girl. The girl complained about Ashraf to Sonu, who in turn went to the school with his friends and attacked Ashraf and his friends, he added.

“The fight took a violent turn and Sonu stabbed Ashraf with a sharp-edged weapon. We have arrested one of Sonu’s friend Bakar Sayyad. A manhunt has been launched to nab Sonu and his accomplices,” said Shivarkar.
