Lawyers come to blows over client in Amravati

In a scene that baffled the passers-by, two lawyers here came to blows over a client near the court premises on Saturday.

The fight between the two left one with a broken mouth prompting the police to register a case.

Advocate Sudarshan Abhyankar and advocate Dinesh Sharma had gone to the court in connection with the bail of an accused. Though the court had a holiday, it being the second Saturday, a special court was operating.

At the court, advocate Sharma started arguing with Abhyankar over the accused client. While Sharma claimed the client to be his, Abhyankar argued the accused was his client, people who were witness to the incident said.

Other lawyers present at the court tried to pacify them but things did not cool down and the twosome came to blows.

Sharma and his younger brother beat up Abhyankar who later lodged a complaint against the Sharmas.

The police have registered an offence against the Sharmas. Though witnesses stated that the incident took place in the court premises, police complaint showed the place of incident was outside the court premises.
