It’s getting better: Now, Kasab says the magistrate is a liar

    Completely denying the contents of the confessional statement recorded by a magistrate early this year, accused Mohammed Ajmal Kasab said that his real statement has not been brought before the court.

    “She [referring to additional metropolitan magistrate RV Sawant Waghule] has changed my statement,” said Kasab.

    Kasab reiterated his earlier claim that he was picked up by the police 20 days before the November 26, 2008 terror attack took place and was framed in the case.

    So far, the judge has asked him nearly 500 questions, mostly pertaining to eyewitness accounts pertaining to the incident and the confession. Kasab has denied all the evidence against him.

    Kasab also told the court that he had been shot in his hands by the police after the police fixed ‘something’ in front of the barrel of the gun, “like in the movies” and shot at him on his hands. “It was just like in the movies,” he told the judge.

    The court referred to the incident after the CST firing spree when Kasab allegedly tried to open the door of a car behind Times of India. To this, Kasab retorted, “Let them [police] show my fingerprints.”

    Kasab also revealed in court that he would make one final statement about his version of events once the judge finishes confronting him with all the evidence.

    The court indicated that questions pertaining to formal witnesses like spot witnesses, doctor’s deposition on post-mortems of the victims and the injured victims. The judge will continue recording of Kasab’s statement on January 6.
