Namdeo Dhasal, founder-president of Dalit Panther, has demanded that the Centre should take action against anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare ‘for promoting disharmony in the nation’. Dhasal, was speaking to the media persons in Pune on Saturday.

“Anna and his movement for a strong Jan Lokpal Bill has threatened the very basics of the Indian Constitution and the central government should take immediate action against him,’’ he said. Dhasal claimed that the Jan Lokpal Bill proposed by Hazare would not be enough to fight corruption.

Criticising the demand of Team Anna to include the prime minister and class IV employees of the government under the ambit of the Lokpal Bill, Dhasal said that both
the moves are unconstitutional.

“The class IV employees mostly are from the backwards strata of society and Anna by his demand to include them in the ambit of the Lokpal is insinuating that employees from that strata are corrupt,’’ he said.

Dhasal, also announced that under the aegis of the Dalit Panther, he would be holding a day long ‘Save the constitution movement’ at Chaityabhoomi (Mumbai), on December 27. “We will be educating the masses about the dangerous anarchist tendencies propagated by Team Anna and would also submit a memorandum to the governor asking for action against the movement,’’ he said.
