Boyfriend rapes girl

Police have arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly raping his girlfriend, a minor, after she refused to have a physical relationship with him. The accused, Asif Mir, a resident of Gaikwad Nagar, Malwani, Malad (West) and the victim who also lives in the same area, had been seeing each other for the past two years.

In her statement to the police, the victim said that on Saturday, Mir took her to Aksa beach and booked a room in a lodge. He offered her a drink but when she refused the drink and snubbed him for making advances, he hit her right hand with an iron rod and raped her, said Jaiwant Hargude, senior inspector of Malwani police station.

Mir dropped the victim in Malad area in the evening. She told her mother about the incident when she inquired about the injury, said the police official. Both the victim and accused in their statement admitted about their affair.

The victim has been sent to Nagpada hospital for medical test. Mir was arrested on charges of kidnapping and rape of a minor and has been sent to police custody till September 18.
