The Bombay high court on Wednesday directed a citizens group of Juhu Vile Parle Development Scheme to make a presentation to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) about their grievances related to the construction of an 11-storey building.
A division bench of justice PB Majmudar and justice Amjad Sayed was hearing a petition filed by Gulmohar Area Society’s Welfare Group alleging that the building being constructed by Shravan Developers is committing gross violation of the Development Control Rules. The judges observed that the petition has not been filed in public interest.
The petition has highlighted irregularities in the construction including car parking.
In an affidavit, BMC justified granting permission for car parking saying that JVPD scheme is a low-lying area.
Disposing their petition, the judges directed BMC to decide their complaint regarding alleged violations in accordance with the law within three months.
