A Punjab counter-intelligence team along with Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad raided the house of arrested Babbar Khalsa International member Nishant Singh in Punjab's Tarn Taran district and recovered weapons suspected to have been sent from Pakistan.

Following his arrest, an ATS team visited his village Daleke in Tarn Taran district of Punjab and raided Singh's farm where they recovered an AK-47 rifle with 1110 rounds, a 0.30 Chinese pistol, a 9mm Belgium pistol a French pistol and a country-made pistol, ATS chief Rakesh Maria said.

"Singh, during interrogation, revealed that he had procured the arms from across the border. We are still probing this," Maria said.

Singh was arrested soon after he arrived in the city from Nanded along with five associates, who have been given a clean chit.

"We had sent the photographs of the five persons travelling with Singh to Punjab for verification. But we have learnt that they are not involved," the ATS chief said.

Singh's father Karamsingh Joginder and uncle Gurbaksha Singh were arrested in 1991 for possessing one kg of heroin and were jailed for 10 years. In 2007, they were again caught for possessing two kg heroin and were awarded 10 years imprisonment for a second time.

Singh, who was a sepoy in the army, had served in Kargil, Siachen and Jammu and Kashmir. He is in police custody till June 28.
