All eyes on Raj Thackeray before first KDMC rally today

The Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) election campaign hots up after top leaders from all political parties landed in Kalyan and Dombivli, with their road shows, meetings and rallies stirring up the day-to-day life of the citizens.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray will conduct his first public rally for these elections in Dombivli on Monday. The question on everyone’s minds is whether Raj will answer the allegations piled on him by Sena chief Bal Thackeray at the Shiv Sena’s Dussehra rally. This will be Raj’s first public speech after the Sena’s October 17 rally.

At the Dussehra rally, the Sena chief had said, “Merely talking about Marathi doesn’t mean you are doing something constructive. I have been fighting for Marathi before you were even born.”

If sources are to be believed, Raj is holding back his response for the public rallies on the KDMC campaign trail. The MNS will be using mobile vans to broadcast Raj’s previous speeches.

Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray and MNS chief Raj Thackeray were in the same place on Sunday, conducting road shows for their respective candidates. The situation became tense when Uddhav’s roadshow met the MNS procession, and the supporters exchanged slogans. The situation, however, did not get out of hand.
