26/11 martyrs' memorial in Thane waits inauguration

Inauguration of the memorial built in the memory of martyrs of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks does not seem to take place on its first anniversary since no politician or bureaucrat has the time for it.

The memorial was built in 100 days at Wada here by the Shaheed Smarak Samithi to pay tribute to the martyrs of 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai.

With just ten days to go for the first anniversary of the attacks, the Samithi has approached a number of VIPs and VVIPs to inaugurate the memorial, but no one has the time, social activist Om Prakash Sharma said.

"It is shameful on the part of the citizens and leaders of the country who could not not spare a few minutes to inaugurate the memorial for the martyrs," he said.
