21 pvt hospitals in Maha allowed to treat swine flu patients

Seventeen hospitals in Mumbai, three in Pune and one in Navi Mumbai are among those allowed to treat swine flu patients, a senior official said.

The Maharashtra government has allowed 21 private hospitals in the state to treat swine flu cases, a senior government official said here today. So far, the death toll due to swine flu in Maharashtra has reached 19.

Seventeen hospitals in Mumbai, three in Pune and one in Navi Mumbai are among those allowed to treat swine flu patients, a senior official said. The hospitals include Bombay Hospital, Breach Candy, Hinduja, Kokilaben Ambani, Nanavati, Hiranandani, Wockhardt and Inlak hospitals in Mumbai.

So far, 3,30,915 people in the state have been screened for swine flu and the number of persons who showed symptoms of swine flu was 14,612.

As of now, 440 people have been admitted to various hospitals in the state, and the number includes 78 affected patients. Of these, 18 are in a serious condition.
