After passing the trust vote, the Devendra Fadnavis government would be facing another round of rough weather during the winter session of the state assembly at Nagpur, the CM's hometown, since the opposition would going all out to target the government on various issues of Vidarbha.

What are the different stances?
The separate Vidarbha demand is a long-standing one with development being an issue. A BJP leader said the trust vote could be passed since it was a planned strategy, but it would be different in Nagpur since BJP has its stated position on separate Vidarbha, an issue that would have to be smartly handled.
On the other hand, Shiv Sena which is still in conversation with the BJP for a possible induction in to the cabinet, is a die hard opponent of separate Vidarbha for obvious reasons. It is likely that the Congress, which has been claiming the credit for creating separate Telangana, would bring up the issue of separate Vidarbha to corner BJP during theWinter session.

What about the pro-Vidarbha groups?
Vidarbha Rajya Aandolan Samiti core committee member and former MLA from Chandrapur Wamanrao Chatap said that even though Fadnavis hails from Vidarbha, the committee would continue to intensify its fight for a separate Vidarbha. The samiti's convener Ram Neole said "Union minister Nitin Gadkari has given in writing to us that separate Vidarbha would be created after BJP coming to power and what would happen to this promise now?"

What are the other issues?
Other issues are suicides of farmers and fair price for cotton growers since Vidarbha has predominant crop of cotton which is a cash crop. Congress state unit president Maikrao Thakare has pointed out that the state government has not yet started the cotton purchase centers nor it has given price difference to compensate cotton growers. Thakare has challenged Fadnavis by reminding him his own demand for cotton growers and asked for ultimate price of Rs5,500 to Rs6,000 for the cotton growers.
Naxalism is an ongoing issue in many parts of Vidarbha and the overall development is the answer on the same, said Dr Nitin Raut, a former minister in Prithviraj Chavan cabinet. Raut pointed out that it is up to Fadnavis to satisfy people of Vidarbha whom he was promising separate Vidarbha during the elections.
