Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) got its mayor and deputy mayor on Wednesday. While Rajendra Deolekar of Shiv Sena was elected mayor Bharatiya Janata Party's Vikki Ramesh Tare was elected deputy mayor.

"The electoral process for mayor and deputy mayor was peaceful," said Subhash Bhujbal, municipal secretary, KDMC.

On November 7, Sena's Deolekar and Rahul Damle had filed nominations for the post of mayor. While Rajesh More from Sena and BJP's Vikram Tare and Vishal Pavse had filed nominations for thepost of deputy mayor.

However, owing to to the alliance and seat-sharing formula between the Sena and BJP, Damle took back his mayoral nomination while Vishal Pavse and More took back theirs for the deputy mayoral position.

As per the seat-sharing formula between Sena and BJP, who have formed an alliance in KDMC after a bitter pre-election battle, Sena will have its mayor for the first two and a half years while BJP will get the deputy mayor's post.

Then BJP will get to have its mayor for one year and in the last one and a half years Sena will again have its mayor.
