QWhat are some fashion mistakes women dressers make in corporate wear?
Be it sporting suits or salwar kameez, women always go wrong when choosing the fit of the garment. Wearing loosely-fitted clothes send out wrong signals. It is important to focus on well-fitted outfits. Also, mix and match concept works well for casual wear, but not for a corporate ensemble. Women often spot odd clothes like denims with striped shirts! It is essential to pair your clothes correctly.

QWhat is the correct way to experiment with one’s corporate outfits?
A lot of brands now have an amazing collection of corporate wear for women. To bring the style quotient in, take notice of the fit, because that is the most important aspect to a corporate look. And yes, a good attitude is another must, to go with it!

QWhat are the must haves, in terms of corporate wear?
A well-fitted suit is a must in every woman’s wardrobe. Apart from suits, one can also try satin blouses and skirts. In Indian wear, cotton saris and salwar suits are a good choice. In colours, I would recommend pastel shades. However, shirts with soft prints are also a great option. Linen, however, has not been experimented with much, in this segment. Linen makes one look smart and elegant. So, linen trousers and shirts are good buys too!

The three must-haves are — a well-fitted black suit for presentations or meetings, a simple ivory satin shirt and a good pair of shoes.

QDoes corporate wear, call for much accessorising?
Accessories must be kept minimal for the corporate look. Wearing too many spoils the overall look. So, it’s advisable to keep accessories simple. A scarf, watch, a simple neck-piece and a small ear stud is what works well with a corporate outfit.   Apart from these, a nice bag and shoes will complete the formal avatar.
