You are single in Mumbai city, don’t know where to meet new people or are bored of hanging out at the same places — then here are some unique activities that you may want to take up.

Plan your Sunday
A new group called Club XYZ plans 10 Sundays for you in a year, which come to approximately one Sunday a month, with different fun activities. This is a group started by Vidhi Mehra and Alok Mody, two 24-year-old executives from the Welingkar Institute of Management.

Vidhi says, “In the corporate life, most people spend six out of seven days in a week working in the office. On the seventh day you just want to sit at home and do nothing. Our concept is to plan out 10 activities for a group of 30-40 people in a year which may include a cricket match, movie, dinner, night at a disco, overnight trip to a closeby place.” Their next outing is on October 11.

Tell a story
If your kids are curious to know about the world and shower you with a number of questions, then Storytrails, a unique group for children between the age group 6-12 years may help you. They organise trails every weekend that cover a vast range of topics from the creation of the universe to the functioning of the engine under your car’s hood, all coupled with fun games, puzzles and storytelling.

The group recently had a trail at the Gateway of India. Nirmala, head of the storytelling section, informs how she added fun elements to history and wove a story around the creation of the Gateway.

“Storytelling involves children to learn with fun. When we did the Seven Islands of Mumbai trail, we created a puzzle of the map of Mumbai. Kids joined them together along with the picture clues,” she says.

Cycle your way
Do you want to forget driving your car everyday to the office which may have also added some kilos to your tummy? Try cycling all the way to Goa then! Prateek Deo is an adventurer who runs an adventure group called Life Away From Life. He plans to take a group of interested people on a 500 km road trip to Goa.

He himself has cycled on different journeys to various places in the country for a distance of more than 2000 kms at a stretch. “The distance to Goa will be covered over 7-8 days. The group will cycle approximately 10 hours a day covering 70 kilometers. Each individual will carry a load of 20 kgs, evenly distributed on the bicycle with all personal necessities.”
