The 4th anniversary celebrations of Stylekandy, a fashion portal, will be celebrated with a fashion extravaganza with a difference, today. It will help Breakthrough, an International Human Rights Organisation that strives to spread awareness against Domestic Violence towards Women, and ring the bell with the fashion fraternity.

Designers Narendra Kumar, Rocky S, Archana Kochhar, Neeta Lulla, Rahul Mishra,   Nachiket Barve, Babita Malkani, Krishna Mehta and Arshiya Fakih will be a part of the show. A special T-shirt will also be designed by each participant.

Meghana Rao from Breakthrough says, “Our famous campaign Bell Bajao will be integrated into the event, and the website will declare their oneness and support towards the cause. We want to make a very public statement about what is usually brushed off as a private issue. Violence against women is seen as a female issue, but it also questions male’s responsibility.”

When asked why they chose fashion as a medium to highlight the issue, Rao says, “It is our motto to use the power of popular culture, media, and community mobilisation to transform public attitudes and change mindsets. At the same time, there is a need to engage younger audiences, which is why we thought fashion would be a fantastic medium to help get our message across.!”

Designer Rocky S says, “ I feel great to a be a part of the event as it covers style in all varied dimensions, gives the latest buzz and keeps me abreast of trends about fashion and lifestyle.”

Designer Narendra Kumar Ahmed says, “For the show, I will be showcasing my pret line which is called Nari Nari and I am extremely proud to be a part of the show which is associated with a noble cause.”

Designer Archana Kochhar is also excited to participate in the show and singer Sunidhi  Chauhan is the show-stopper for her collection. “Sunidhi is the perfect candidate to walk for my collection called Grey Matters, as it celebrates the new-age woman who is fearless and yet fun loving,” she ends.
