Imagination, translated in myriad hues and strung together with words well-chosen and crafted carefully, gives us that wonderful escape in form of art and literature. We create and we participate, we partake and we reflect — and Bangalore, our beloved city, affords us space enough to do so.

That space where our authors retreat, that space where our artists create and that space where we, the rest of the city, put our lives on hold for a moment and immerse ourselves in a reality that’s richer, colourful and reminds us of who we are.

And in this living, breathing, thriving world, we have a community of creators who are changing our perception of the imagined and the real, word by word, stroke by stroke. We bring you a glimpse of their lives, these artistes and authors, the people who extend them creative support at each step and make the city what it is. From mainstream art forms to those that are breaking boundaries, pushing the borders and carving out a new niche — Bangalore has a rich tapestry that has a story to tell with each waft.

In our three years in Bangalore, we have had the opportunity to see some of it being made, we have heard their stories and we have told some of them as well. And there are many, many more that are in the making, and we are proud to be part of those stories in the making.

While the future is not here yet, we are privileged to be able to bring you a glimpse of it. And as we look forward, we feel blessed to have that rich literary and artistic heritage to give us our moorings.
