Two of cricket betting gang held in Kanpur

Two alleged members of a gang involved in cricket betting have been arrested in Kanpur with mobile phones and Rs25,000, police said today.

Following specific information that betting was on at Indraprastha apartments in Govindnagar area, police raided the building and arrested Gurdeep Singh Dinku and Dilip Singh from there.

The duo were allegedly involved in cricket betting through mobile phones, they said.

Six cellphones, Rs25,000 cash besides some chits and a register having details of betting were seized from there.

Police said raids were being conducted to nab the other members of the gang.
