“Anna is a hot topic among inmates. Since the time Anna Hazare was brought in jail, the inmates are talking about their experience with Anna during his stay with them to fellow inmates. Soon after his shifting to the administrative block these inmates closely followed the protest via TV sets,” Tihar sources told DNA.
Not only inmates, but the police officials who were taking care of Anna during his stay at the DG Prisons office are missing him.
“We were busy for the past three days but suddenly everything here is over. The Gandhian fellow left for his mission. Though we are missing him but will pray that he succeeds in his mission,” said a police official, who wished to remain anonymous, and was one among those who were taking care of Hazare.
Similar are the feelings of 65-year-old Shakuntla Singh, a senior citizen who came with her husband for three days regularly at Tihar to show her support towards the anti-graft movement but soon after Anna left Tihar she felt as if something was missing from her daily routine.
“I came here daily but since Anna left for Ramlila Maidan on Friday, I came back to my house in the evening and is planning to reach the protest site on Saturday. Tihar was closer to my house but this ground is at a distance but then also I will definitely go,” Shakuntla said.
Hazare exuded tremendous enthusiasm as he was greeted by his supporters with garlands and bouquets at various intersections en-route to Ramlila Maidan.
