"Thank God, we don't have a Bal Thackeray here," chief minister Sheila Dikshit said today while calling Delhi a unique city where people from across the country can live comfortably without any distinction.
"We have varied culture and really cosmopolitan people," Dikshit said. "People from Kerala to Jammu & Kashmir and the Northeast can live here comfortably. There is no distinction.
"Everyone knows what is happening in Mumbai [anti-North Indian campaign]. It certainly does not happen here. Thank God, we don't have a Bal Thackeray here."
Dikshit was speaking at an interactive session at a summit organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry and The Wall Street Journal.
The chief minister also spoke about the uniqueness of Delhi, where everything, including its weather, is imported, and the number of heritage structures it has.
