The ruling Congress MPs from Telangana region today asked the Andhra Pradesh government to scrap recent government order 177 that seeks to enforce 'no work no pay' principle on state employees.

"GO 177 must be cancelled as it curtails democratic rights of government employees to protest",Congress MP G Sukhender Reddy told reporters after a meeting of the party MPs.

The recently issued GO 177, which underlined a number of measures to 'discipline' the state employees, evoked sharp criticism from pro-Telangana activists and political parties.

The protests like 'tool down', 'pen down' and 'non-cooperation stir' undertaken by the state employees during recent pro-Telangana agitations, found mention in the GO.

In background of growing opposition to the GO, the government has kept its implementation in abeyance.

Meanwhile, Telangana Congress MPs also demanded that the Centre make public the eighth chapter, which deals with law and order issues, of the Sri Krishna committee report as per the orders of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

The Centre did not make public the eighth chapter of Sri Krishna Committee when the report was released in December last.
