A local court today extended by two days the police remand of Habib Hussain, who hid in a toilet on an Air India chartered flight from Saudi Arabia for Haj pilgrims last month to return to the country.

"The stowaway, who is booked under Passport Act, was in six days' police custody here and was produced before the Magistrate who extended the remand by two more days," police sources said.

Interrogation has not revealed any intention to cause any harm, the sources said, adding that Hussain will be produced before the court again on January 4.

Habib hailed from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh and was working as a cleaner at Medina airport with a Saudi ground handling company.

He managed to board the flight without ticket and passport on the pretext of cleaning it on December 25.
