Speed bump claims 2 lives in Vastrapur

Two youngsters died in a freak accident near Himalaya mall after the motorcycle they were astride lost control around 1 am on Tuesday.

According to the Vastrapur police, both the deceased were two of the pillions on a Bajaj Pulsar bike, on which a total four people were riding.

In his statement to the Vastrapur police, one Vijay Khatri, 22, a security guard of Mohini Tower near Judges Bungalow, said that he along with three of his friends were going on his Pulsar motorcycle from Helmet circle to Himalaya Mall on Monday night.
According to Khatri, who is a native of Nepal, he had gone for a ride on his motorcycle with three of his friends, named Gopal, Tilak, and Raj Bahadur.

However, at 1:15am, while approaching Himalaya mall the four friends’ journey was about to be cut short. Khatri lost control of his bike near Mahatma Gandhi Labor Institute while crossing a
speed bump.

After jumping the bump, the motorcycle swerved and all four of them fell on the road with full impact.

According to Vastrapur police, Gopal died on the spot after suffering severe head trauma, while Raj Bahadur died during treatment at Civil Hospital on Tuesday morning. Khatri along with Tilak is still undergoing treatment at the hospital. The surviving duo is said to be out of danger.
