A team of four senior IPS officers of the state will investigate into reports about US national David Headley's visit to the state.  The input about Headley's alleged visit to the state and several other Indian cities was given by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The FBI had caught Headley, a US national believed to be a LeT operative. The director general of police, Gujarat state, SS Khandwawala said that the team will investigate if Headley had actually visited the state.

"If they find that Headley had visited Gujarat they will try to get further details about it," said Khandwawala. He said that so far no investigative agency has given any specific instruction to the state police. "But, we are concerned about the development and the state police has formed a special team to investigate the case," said Khandwawala.

The team includes, Atul Karwal, joint commissioner of police, sector 2, Abhay Chudasma deputy commissioner of police, Detection of Crime Branch, GL Singhal, superintendent Anti Terrorists Squad and Ajay Tomar, ATS chief of the state.
